WHAT
IS RAID 50? |
RAID 50 (also called RAID 5+0) uses a
minimum of six drives. If six drives are used, the drives
are split into two groups of RAID 5 and striped with parity.
Each of the RAID 5 segments is then
striped as in a RAID 0. The total storage capacity
depends on the number of drives in the array,
but it is important to remember each RAID 5 segment loses the
capacity of one disk for parity. RAID 50 is very
expensive, but it provides a higher level of fault tolerance over
other RAID levels.
RAID 50 also offers better write performance than RAID 5.
in RAID 50, the
failure of one or more drives is tolerable as
long as there is only one failure per each RAID 5 segment.
RAID 50 is frequently used in
many different types of servers that demand high performance
and also in many network attached storage (NAS) devices. For more
information about the
NAS devices with built-in RAID 50 technology,

for |
RAID 50 data recovery.
We
are
available 24/7. |
2) |
A
data recovery technician will immediately assist you
with a free price quote for |
recovery and instructions on
how to receive a free evaluation to determine the
cause of
your RAID 50 failure. You can bring your RAID
to our data recovery lab (click
here for
directions), or
ship your RAID to
us using our shipping instructions. |
3) |
Upon receipt of your array, a data recovery technician
will perform the free evaluation.
You will be contacted
with the results and given the choice to move forward
with the
recovery. The actual recovery process will then
begin and
could take as little as
24 hours. |

WHAT
TO DO IF YOU EXPERIENCE A RAID 50 FAILURE |
If you
experience problems with your RAID 50 array, please do not attempt
to correct the problem
yourself. By taking matters into your own hands, you
could overwrite parity data making RAID
recovery more difficult. Please follow
the steps below and contact ReWave for assistance at
866-739-2835.
STEP 1 |
Turn off your RAID 50 device immediately.
This ensures that no additional data |
can be written to the array, which could overwrite the data
you are trying to recover. |
STEP 2 |
Document the series of events that occurred causing RAID
50 failure. Try to |
make notes
if possible documenting any problems that occurred and the efforts |
that were made to solve the problems. If you remove
the drives from the array, it is |
important to label the drives with the same order in which
they existed in the array. |
This will save our data recovery team a significant amount
of time when piecing the |
array back together to recover the data. |
STEP 3 |
Contact ReWave immediately. Our data recovery
team is available 24/7 to assist |
you with RAID recovery at 866-739-2835. |
